CNNC Completes Hualong One Model Standard System

A complete and independently-developed model standard system of China's Hualong One has now been formed, according to a statement by China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) made on Nov 10.

More than 2,000 employees of CNNC have participated in model standard of Hualong One technology since 2016. An independently-developed nuclear power standard system covering the entire lifespan of the Hualong One, including nuclear power designing and equipment manufacturing, construction, adjustment and operation, has been completed.

The model standard system consists of more than 2,000 elements including research into 35 major technologies, amendments to meet an IEC international standard and some proposals on standards.

What's more, China's first international nuclear power standard has been issued. Setting and reaching such a standard was part of the model development and confirms that the country's nuclear power technology has gained international affirmation.

Based on research and construction, CNNC is now in full swing in the standardized demonstration project of Hualong One as approved by the National Energy Administration, the Standardization Administration and the National Nuclear Safety Administration.
