Chinese central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in 2020 contributed to construction of many crucial facilities and products in medicine, space exploration, scientific research, power generation and global positioning systems.
Beidou-3 global satellite positioning system
The Beidou-3 global satellite positioning system was completed on July 31, 2020. It is China's first satellite system to provide positioning services to users worldwide.
The system consists of three kinds of satellites: 24 middle Earth orbit satellites, three inclined geosynchronous orbit satellites and three geosynchronous orbit satellites.
More than 120 countries and regions are already using the system.
