Built by China Railway First Group Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China Railway Group Limited, the 1,639-meter bridge is located on the border of Foshan and Zhaoqing, and spans the Beijiang River, a trunk stream of the Pearl River. It has six lanes in total and vehicles are allowed to run as fast as 80 kilometers per hour.

As a key traffic infrastructure linking Zhaoqing and Foshan, the Mafang Grand Bridge is expected to accelerate connectivity and coordinated development of cities involved in the integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
