On August 27, 2024, a concert in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil was held in the National Library Concert Hall in Beijing.
Artists from the Mare do Amanha Orquestra of Brazil, together with musicians and singers from State Grid Corporation of China (State Grid), performed excerpts from the works of the famous Brazilian composer Antônio Carlos Jobim, as well as familiar Chinese songs such as “Jasmine Flower” and “Legend of Butterfly Lovers.” The Brazilian orchestra is supported by the State Grid since 2011.
During their first visit to China in August of this year, the orchestra members also held flash mob events in Xidan in Xicheng district, Beijing, under the theme “Music Knows No Borders,” and performed Chinese and Brazilian musical pieces at Shougang Park and the Badaling Great Wall in Beijing, showcasing a vivid picture of friendship and cultural integration between the two countries.
