This project is one of Algeria’s key initiatives for ensuring national water security. Located in the CAPBLANC area of Oran Province, it represents Sinochem Holdings’ first large-scale seawater desalination project in North Africa. It is the largest international seawater desalination project independently designed and provided with core desalination technology by a Chinese company.
Once fully operational, the project will provide an effective solution to alleviate Algeria’s water scarcity issues.
As the project contractor, Sinochem Holdings’ subsidiary, Hangzhou Water Treatment, is responsible for providing comprehensive engineering services, including design, procurement and operations management. Currently, the commissioning work is progressing smoothly.
