A subsidiary of China Merchants Group, Sinotrans Limited (Sinotrans), has delivered the wind turbine components for the Bukhara 2×500 MW Wind Power Project in Uzbekistan — Central Asia’s largest wind power project.
Over a period of 625 days and across a distance of more than 5,000 kilometers, Sinotrans efficiently handled peak monthly deliveries of equipment.

After manufacture in Baotou, Jiuquan and Bayannur, workers transported the wind turbine components and blades across the vast deserts of Xinjiang to Uzbekistan.
In total, 1,422 oversized components, including 130-ton generators and 84-meter-long blades were delivered. The long distances involved, massive dimensions and challenging terrain posed significant logistical challenges.
To ensure safe and efficient delivery, the project team utilized an intelligent logistics platform for real-time cargo tracking, enabling precise monitoring and coordination.
Once operational, the project will harness abundant wind resources to supply over 3.5 billion kWh of electricity annually to the grid in Uzbekistan, reducing carbon emissions by 1.6 million tons per year.
